Just a brief introduction, I'll post some more common resolutions, according to my own standard deduction and the image in the world of mobile devices.

QCIF (Quarter Common Intermediate Format)

est One sizeWalk of the low-resolution images produced by digital cameras and video cameras. QCIF images of 176 pixels wide and 144 pixels high (176 x 144).
QCIF is smaller than the CIF, QVGA and VGA.

CIF (Common Intermediate Format)

A standard resolution (size) for the mobile disk, and the images produced by low resolutionng digital cameras.
CIF images are 352 pixels wide and 288 pixels high (352 x 288).

CIF is larger than QCIF and QVGA, but smaller than VGA.

QVGA (Quarter-VGA)

A resolution (size) of 320 x 240 pixels. This may refer to the resolution of a physical component as a screen or the camera sensor, or it may refer to content as a resolution & oacutee, n of a photo or video file.

QVGA is a common resolution phone screens and also for the video captured by the phones.
Higher resolution gives more details. QVGA is larger (higher resolution) than QCIF, but smaller than VGA.

VGA is 640 x 480 pixels. QVGA is both a quarter of the area, hence the name quarter VGA (QVGA).

Ejm: Nokia 6120 classic, Nokia 5700, N80, N91 .... including most Nokia smartphones.



VGA (video graphics array)

A standard resolution (size) for camera sensors, displays, photos and video. VGA size is 640 pixels wide by 480 pixels high (or vice versa, in portrait orientation).

VGA is larger than CIF, QCIF and QVGA, but less than 1 megapixel. (VGA is equivalent to 0.3 megapixels.)

Megapixel


This term refers to the size of an image, usually in reference to a picture of a digital camera or camera phone.

megapixel means one million píxeles.La resolution digital cameras and camera phones is often measured in megapixels. For example, a two megapixel camera can produce images with two million pixels.

Since the pixels are square and usually form a grid, a 1-meg cameraapíxeles produce an image of approximately 1200 pixels wide by 900 pixels high.

comparison, a VGA image (640 x 480 pixels) would be only 0.3 megapixels.
